Backyard shenanigans

Some of the first bounty from our garden. Radishes! Our blueberry plants are FINALLY (its only been 3 years) taking off and of course strawberries from the front yard. They are so yummy.

The last couple weekends we've been working on the play structure area. Dave used the pavers we tore out last summer to create a border, killed off the grass and then we put down a weed barrier. Next we spread 80 bags of recycled rubber mulch. Hopefully the rubber mulch will prove to be the right choice, as it was kind of expensive.

Ta da! All done :)

Tulip Festival

A rare hot (hot being in the mid 80's) in April is the day I decide would be good for the Tulip Festival. Ugg! It was a bit too warm for me. Us ladies (and Tucker) ventured to Woodburn to check out the tulips. Acres and acres of tulips. I forgot my good camera and by the time we made to the actual tulips fields the girls we over it so these are the only photos I was able to get from the day.

Weekend at the Beach

We went to Grandma Dee and Dan's house a few weekends ago. Kind of a last visit before they tear down their existing home, move into the apartment in the garage for a few months (or eight) and build a new house. We are looking forward to seeing the new house. They have spent a lot of time and thought into the floor plan. Its going to be great! Dave was at his annual guy's weekend so it was just us ladies.

Our weather was perfect. Sunny and clear, enough wind to fly the kite.  Warm enough for exploring the rocks and a swim for Tucker. Impressive for April.
