Christmas Tree Hunting

We had to find a new local Christmas tree farm this year. I suppose we could have driven to our old favorite where all the trees are $15, but we figured that the amount of $$ in gas and hour and half round trip drive would eliminate the cost savings. Not knowing much about where to go we opted for an acquaintance from high school family's farm.

WOW!! Are they proud of their trees! If we would have picked out the same size of tree we have in the previous years it would have been $80!! Thats just nuts! I guess that is a reason to be thankful that our ceilings are considerably lower at this house. Even still our tiny seven foot tree was $35. We will definitely be looking for a new farm next year.

Claire and I were playing hide and seek in the trees, while Dave looked for the "perfect" tree.

Ready or not, here I come

Quite a bit fuller than we normally choose,
but it would be easy to thin out.

I see you!

Thats mud on her face. Not exactly sure what she put in her mouth, pretty sure I don' t want to know.

Trying to get Claire to look at the camera

Turkey!

Attempt #3

Being a stinker

I give up!

Thankfully we had help this year getting out of the field.

SAY CHEESE!

Claire has been really interested in taking pictures with my camera. Thankfully its digital and I can just delete the fuzzy ones. Here are few she has taken lately.

Happy Halloween

Somehow I missed posting about Halloween. Sorry about that.

Even though I tried to get her to broaden her horizons and be something different this year, Claire decided to Princess Belle (big shock!). She was a cute Princess Belle and has enjoyed wearing her dress all the time. ALL. THE. TIME.

We went to a few different events. First, our church had a harvest party for the community the weekend before Halloween where they had games and prizes set up for the kids. The two biggest hits for Claire were the face painting and the balloon animals.  She was very proud of her purple butterfly and quite disappointed when it was all smudged in the morning.

Second, Claire's school also had a harvest party, this one was on Halloween. Same set up. Games, candy and face painting, but for some reason she didn't like it as much. I am not sure if it was because it was louder (they had a band) or darker in there but we didn't stay very long. We ended up going home after just a little while and trick-o-treated a few houses on our street. My favorite was handing out candy at our house and seeing all the kiddos in their costumes. We haven't had trick-o-treaters in years.
